Day 1 - Yourself

Bleh, I ought to be sleeping, but here's a quickie before I bump off. So I mentioned an art challenge meme thing I was going to do, so I've finally finished slapping on colour to the chibi lineart, so here it is!

Nothing too fancy haha. I still like the lineart though (I actually like the fingers for once!!!). Not a fan of the colouring since it was rushed in under 30 minutes heh. This is probably the only time I look that thin and have that much hair with eyes that big xD. The outfit's quite accurate though, seeing how I actually wore that set to school before... And I tend to head to school in a tank top, shorts and Converses. I'm lazy like that. Anyway, I've decided to convert it into my new DA ID too!

Quite a simple design since I have absolutely no creative spark now. Also, I'm too lazy to draw or design anything vaguely decent looking heh. Hope I'll actually finish tomorrow's topic for the art challenge @_@. I've enough trouble drawing the damn things, so I might just post the items up without colouring heh.

Day 2 - Favourite Animal

Yay! I've survived the first day of the challenge xD. So today's was Favourite Animal. Thankfully, I have an ultimate favourite animal xD. So... I just pretty much dug out my collection of cheetah photos (my own and by others) for references. I wanted to make the cheetah look elegant but after redoing the lineart several times and failing, I gave up and decided to just focus on not butchering the poor feline D:. Still, it was a lot less headache inducing than drawing humans. I had great fun doing the dots and drawing the paws! The paws were probably the only thing I didn't redraw for this piece -.-;;. I loathe the face of the cheetah =/. I didn't want to do the furry details etc, so I couldn't really smoke my way through the face shape heh... But what I can say is, I can't do realism and I can't draw faces for most animals :P.

I struggled doing the different fur tones, because I didn't want to do the typical drawing of individual strands to make it look fluffy and alll... That would have taken days to finish @_@. So I just pretty much used a dry brush and dragged it over random parts of the cheetah for the different tones heh. Bleh, I should have shaded the chest area more... If not it looks like the chest and the foreleg are combined @_@. Oh well, it's a practice for me xD so good enough! :P I'm lazy like that heh. Looking forward to tomorrow's!
