celticheavens | How can you say no to him?

Another post for the day (or rather new day since it's in the morning...); I just hate how my designing + drawing whims come at the most inconvenient timings D<. After posting Chibi America, I was sorting through my numerous sketches and incomplete designs (bad idea, but I hate my folders being too messy) and I had this sudden intense urge to make graphics. I tried ignoring it since I wanted to start on packing my room, but it kept growing and growing, almost like there was a ball of fire within me. It grew and expanded, mutating from a gentle tug of warmth into a blazing flame. Needless to say, I couldn't ignore it any longer (it even impeded the packing of my room!) and went to open Photoshop again. /sigh

I haven't designed my normal graphics since last year's Hermione set for TDN though... Needless to say, I struggled a little before I got my original rhythm back. After settling on designing a simple icon, I couldn't decide on what subject to use. Since I've been drawing quite a bit recently, what better image to use than that of my darling Sanzo~!

100x100

3 different versions: Original 100x100 icon, 100x100 icon resized from the 120x120 one, original 120x120 icon.

It's a *really* bad idea to start doing graphics again with one of the colour schemes I've always had trouble with *coughyellow/orangecough*, but what's even worse an idea is trying to mix that with purple D8. I overestimated myself again =/. It was originally fully purple but it looked boring so... I went ahead with the dual colours idea. What I found hilarious is that the background look good by itself, but not as much when Sanzo's on it DDDDDDDDDDDDD:. ~~Why you so hard to design graphics for?~~ Sanzo is just too awesome for any background. Toggled the colour levels for Sanzo to better match the background (it actually looks a lot better this way than with the original colour scheme, even if it wasn't used in random graphics OTL). That said, I think it looks fine, or rather decent enough to be used as an icon for now :D. Anything with Sanzo on it is good enough for me really! /drools (I can't pick which of the 100x100 icons I prefer so I'll just rotate between both HAHA!)

Anyway, hopefully using Photoshop twice in a day will help curb my urges until I get back! :D
